34 Square Foot:
Suitable for boxes, seasonal belongings, small furniture or the contents of a small van.
Tip: Make a list of any long or bulky items and check their dimensions against the unit dimensions.
63 Square Foot:
Our most popular size
Suitable for the contents of a larger van, several pieces of furniture, or a mix of household items and boxes. It can also be a good choice for business stock.
This size is popular with customers decluttering or creating space during a move. Packing and stacking your belongings carefully will help you make the most of it.
Tip: Similar to the size of half a shipping container.
90 Square Foot:
Suitable for a larger collection of furniture and boxes, or business stock and equipment.
Tip: Think about how often you will need to reach items at the back of the unit.
120 Square Foot:
Suitable for a more substantial house move or a sizeable amount of business stock.
Tip: Leave enough room to move safely around items you need to access regularly.
195 Square Foot & Above:
Suitable for larger household moves or businesses that need more floor space for stock and equipment. Call us to discuss the dimensions and availability of our larger units.
These examples are illustrative. The amount you can store depends on the size and shape of your belongings and how safely you can stack them. Unit sizes and availability vary.
Choosing between two sizes:
If you are deciding between sizes, ask yourself:
- What are the largest items? Measure sofas, wardrobes, appliances and other awkward pieces. Check the unit and doorway dimensions.
- How much can be stacked safely? Sturdy, similarly sized boxes use space more efficiently than loose or fragile items. Avoid stacking heavy items on furniture or delicate belongings.
- Will you need to visit regularly? If you are storing business stock or expect to retrieve items often, leave enough room to reach them without emptying the unit first.
- Are you likely to add more later? A little spare space can be useful if your move is happening in stages or your stock levels may change.
Making a rough list of your belongings is more useful than guessing based on the number of rooms in your home. Two households with the same number of bedrooms can need very different amounts of storage.
Indoor or drive up storage?
Some units are indoors and reached on foot, with trolleys available to help you move your belongings. Drive up units let you park at or close to the unit to unload.
The best option depends on what you are storing, the vehicle you will use and how often you plan to visit. Contact us if you need easy access with a large van or heavy furniture.
